Q: Why is this page in Comic Sans?
A: So you would ask that question, and I can prove the page works.
Q: Will you ever switch to a datapack?
A: Absolutely not. Okay, maybe. The thing is, when I first started this project, I had the idea of keeping everything accessible. That was my biggest concern: how can I make this project free and public for everyone? Originally, I was thinking okay, if everything is just in a world file, people can easily download it, right? But then, I realized only PC players would be able to download the world, and they can already download datapacks. So then I thought okay, if it's a server, everyone can join, right? Seems quite simple. Now I'm realizing that with a server, I can already add whatever addons or datapacks I want. So then I was stuck, but now it's a question of principle. I actually have a deep-seated dislike for datapacks thanks to the YouTuber Mysticat. I watched their videos for a long time, and they would make videos saying "I did this in vanilla Minecraft!" but then they used a datapack and it pissed me off. The nerve! Datapacks are in no way vanilla! This is clickbait! I feel like it's more based and sigma (not sorry) if we get to label the server as vanilla. Even if by technicality, it is vanilla. For now. Maybe one day when we start adding addons I'll switch? But right now I have no plans to. People in the computer science industry do something one way and it works for them and then they start being like "erm akshually it would be much easier and better if you used a datapack instead of command blocks" like MAYBE SOME PEOPLE DIDN'T SPEND ALL THEIR NONEXISTENT LIFE LEARNING REAL CODE INSTEAD OF COMMAND BLOCKS, MARGARET! I'm not mad, I'm just... energetically objective. Command blocks are real code, right? Please validate my hobby. Anyway so yeah I don't really like datapacks just on principle but I get it could be smarter but what I guess I'm trying to say is I nonowanna. Yeah. It's like how Scratch programmers react when you tell them to switch to Unity. Just because you think it's "primitive" and "lower quality" doesn't mean we have to throw away our hobbies and learn a new thing! Could it be better if we did it a different way? Probably. But if you want to do it, just apply to join my team and do it for me, why don't you? You gonna talk the talk, then go ahead and do it! But please join my team and don't undermine me, I don't think I could handle that. ;_; It wouldn't be hard to undermine me, and I can't drop the fear someone will do it and steal all my fans. How do artists handle this? What if someone steals their art and no one likes them anymore? Is that even the same thing? Am I actively trying to undermine that one other project that won't be named? (The answer is no, I didn't know it existed prior to starting this project.) But! I forgot. Please subscribe to my YouTube so I know at least someone thinks this isn't a total waste of time.
